Paul Gooderham, MBA, P.Eng.

As founder and principal consultant of The Gooderham Group, for over thirty years, Paul Gooderham has helped many organizations in different industries profitably bring advanced technologies to market. He has sound professional engineering and business training and strong practical general management experience across a broad spectrum of new technologies.

During a business career involving executive management over a wide range of new technologies, Paul Gooderham has founded and built several high technology and advanced manufacturing companies, has led several service companies in the construction and facilities management industries and was North American President for a major international smart card systems integrator.  Paul was directly involved in the implementation of smart card automated transit fare collection systems in San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC and Toronto and more locally in St. John’s, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Calgary, Brantford and Kingston.

Paul is recognized as an industry expert in the application of smart cards and other electronic fare media to the collection of transit fares and related payments and in the application of ITS technologies to transit, in the development of transit fare strategies and supporting marketing strategies and in the assessment and overhaul of fare policies and fare systems.  Paul has been the “hands-on” lead consultant on all Gooderham Group projects, particularly the smart card fare collection and city card business case projects.

Paul is a Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario and holds an MBA degree from York University.
